Vitality Capital Campaign Goes Public

Back in 2017 the CKV Executive Team polled villagers and asked them to list their wishes for enhanced programming in our Harmony Ridge building. The feedback was reviewed by Village Council representatives who weighed and prioritized villagers’ preferences. Naturally, renovating and adding common space to host the new programming would come with a cost… and it was decided early on that none of this cost would result in an increase to villagers’ monthly service fees. Instead, fundraising would be an essential part of the project.

Following a carefully engineered “silent phase” which involved intimately-scaled Community Gatherings that were held before the spring lockdown, The Brethren Home Foundation team is ready to bring the Vitality Capital Campaign to its public phase. “Construction was paused due to the Coronavirus precautions, but the Foundation team was working behind the scenes to fundraise for this significant project,” notes VP of Advancement Vanessa Berger. “We couldn’t wait to get construction started in November, allowing our villagers to look forward to these exciting additions in 2021.”

Strolling along the Avenue of the Arts

The Vitality Campaign is a transformational effort that will elevate Lifelong Learning, the Cultural Arts and Wellness at Cross Keys Village to a level that exceeds the expectations of those whose lives we strive to enrich. No borrowed dollars are planned for these improvements, which will be funded through village growth, reserves, and most importantly through your charitable gifts. Our goal of raising $2 million depends on gifts of all sizes on the part of those who believe in our work and mission.

Gifts can be made to this special Vitality Campaign in many forms: cash, gifts of stock/bonds/mutual funds, gifts made directly from your IRA, or a gift of personal property. Donors may also consider planned gifts such as Charitable Gift Annuities or gifts from your estate. Pledges may be paid over as many as five years. Please contact a member of the Foundation team at (717) 624-5208 if you would like to discuss your gift or if you have questions about a planned or naming opportunity for the Vitality Campaign.
