The Wellbrook Campaign
Cross Keys Village operated Wellbrook, an Adult Day Services program, until 2020. Wellbrook’s closure was brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and left an unfulfilled need in the community for a safe daytime environment, designed for our neighbors who live with dementia.
The Brethren Home Foundation’s $2.6 million Wellbrook Capital Campaign, started in 2023, is raising the funds to cover the construction and the programming for a new Memory Care Resource Center and Day Services on the Cross Keys Village campus. These two programs will be housed in a new building, Lifespring at Cross Keys Village. Your gift is needed now, as we approach the campaign’s goal!
December 13 Groundbreaking
As shovels plunged into the cold, December ground, attendees cheered and applauded. Construction can officially begin on Lifespring Day Services and Memory Care Resource Center! Donors to the Wellbrook Campaign, board members, members of the campaign steering committee, local dignitaries, and members of our Memory Care Team were invited to witness the blessing of its grounds by Georgia Markey, Southern Pennsylvania Church of the Brethren District Interim Executive.
“Lifespring is going to be a great benefit for this community for hundreds of people every year and will serve as a beacon of light and hope for many years to come,” said President and CEO Jeff Evans. Vice President of Advancement, Vanessa Berger, spoke about the significance of the new center and The Brethren Home Foundation’s fundraising effort. “We are fundraising 100 percent of the dollars needed to build, furnish and endow the center,” she said. “The Foundation has raised 89 percent of the $2.6 million goal.” Villager Dorie Skinkus, who serves on the Campaign Steering Committee for the fundraising efforts, tearfully shared, “This isn’t just a want for this community—it’s a need!”
100% dependent on donations
Lifespring at Cross Keys Village is entirely dependent on donations to the Brethren Home Foundation. The campaign is seeking gifts of all sizes from those who believe in this mission. Commemorative naming opportunities are available for gifts of $1,000 or more. Gifts can be made in many forms: cash, gifts of stock, bonds or mutual funds, gifts made directly from your IRA, or a gift of personal property. Donors may also consider planned gifts such as charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, or gifts from your estate. Pledges may be paid over as many as five years.
Please contact Vanessa Berger, Don Wilkinson, or Mindy Langer by calling (717) 624-5208 if you would like to discuss your gift or if you have questions about a planned gift or naming opportunity for the Wellbrook Campaign.
