National Skilled Nursing Care Week: Celebrating Our Dedicated Team
Each May, we set aside a week to recognize the incredible individuals who care for residents at Mission Point Health Care Center. National Skilled Nursing Care Week is a meaningful opportunity to highlight the compassion, dedication, and professionalism that define our Health Care team and the impact they have on our community.
This year’s theme, “Tapestry of Life,” celebrated the stories and connections that weave together to form a strong, diverse, and supportive community. Throughout the week, that message was brought to life through a series of thoughtful events and shared moments.
The week began with our first ever Day of Service. Leaders from across the Cross Keys Village campus joined the Health Care team for the day, stepping into their shoes and working alongside them to better understand the responsibilities and dedication that go into providing daily care. It was a powerful experience that fostered connection and deepened appreciation across departments.
Next came a creative project that encouraged personal expression. Each team member and resident received a blank puzzle piece to decorate with their name and a design that represented them. As the week progressed, each decorated piece will be combined into a single puzzle that reflects the uniqueness that makes our Mission Point community so wonderful.
Midweek, we revisited a cherished tradition. Pastor Carol moved throughout the building to offer the Blessing of the Hands to team members. This quiet and personal gesture served as a moment of reflection and gratitude for the care and service provided every day. A special blessing was also held for the night shift, ensuring all team members could participate in this meaningful experience.
Thursday brought a thoughtful surprise, thanks to our partners at Amedisys Hospice. Team members were treated to soft pretzels and cold lemonade, a simple but much appreciated gesture that brought plenty of smiles and a welcome afternoon break.
The week concluded with a couple of sweet touches. Friday’s ice cream social in the Sage Room gave team members a chance to unwind and enjoy their favorite flavors. On Saturday, the cupcake cart made its way through the building with an assortment of treats for staff.
National Skilled Nursing Care Week was a celebration of the people who make Mission Point such a compassionate and trusted place to live and work. We are truly grateful for the continued dedication of our Health Care team and the positive impact they have on our community every day.
