About Balinda Hunt...
Balinda Hunt was an LPN on our Nursing Services team, who dedicated and devoted more than 30 years of service to Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to high quality care and teamwork touched the lives of countless residents and team members. She will be remembered not only for her professional excellence but for the warmth and care she brought to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her years with us. This award, created by Dr. Michael McGough, seeks to honor the legacy of Balinda and his mother, Peggy, who was a resident that greatly benefited from Balinda’s kind and compassionate care.
Purpose
To recognize a nurse or nurse aide within the Nursing Services Department who exemplifies the values of kindness, compassion, empathy, commitment to high quality care, and teamwork for which Balinda was best known.

Eligibility
To be eligible for The Balinda Hunt Award, nominees must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be employed as a nurse or nurse aid within the CKV Nursing Services department.
- Be employed for at least 6 months.
- Demonstrated consistent behavior aligned with the award’s core values.
Nomination Process
Who can nominate:
- All team members, residents, villagers, volunteers, families, and guests are invited to fill out a nomination form.
Nomination period:
- Open annually during the month of January.
Submission method:
- Nomination forms must be submitted via the online survey, email, or interoffice mail to Human Resources no later than January 31. Hard copies may be requested by emailing humanresources@crosskeysvillage.org
