The Right Idea
In recent years, Cross Keys Village saw a growth in the desire for creative and cultural arts, which led our Village Council to request enhanced programming opportunities in new gathering and educational spaces. In 2021 Harmony Ridge—which we refer to as the “Town Center”— saw a large-scale expansion called The Avenue of the Arts that includes a well-equipped Art Education Studio and a spacious Classroom/Theater. The Wellness suite has also undergone renovations and upgrades to our weight training equipment, as well as a brand new studio space. The connectivity that Harmony Ridge brings to our community is an important asset, and these improvements will allow Harmony Ridge to continue as the “Town Center” for new generations of retirees.
The Right Time
When your castle starts turning into a white elephant… or a prison, it is time to investigate residential living. The need to downsize often becomes clear after one’s children are grown and gone. At first, it is only a hint: “Aren’t we wasting time and resources, cleaning and heating those rooms we barely use?” Later on, the realities of taking care of the lawn, handling regular maintenance issues, and facing unexpected bills become a heavier burden. At Cross Keys Retirement Village, our residential living program eliminates such worries for older adults who want to live a full and fulfilling life.
The Right Reason
Behind every door at Cross Keys Retirement Village there is a slightly different story, but we will share with you frequently heard reasons why our villagers chose to move to a senior living community: They worried about maintenance, upkeep and repairs, and about staying in a neighborhood increasingly noisier and less safe. They heard great reports from friends who had already made the move. Going out was becoming a costly hassle, especially after dark. They wished to travel frequently without worrying about their residence. They wanted to make their own decisions – as opposed to leaving the responsibility up to their children during an emergency of some kind (especially if they had, themselves, guided their own parents through an overdue decision).
