Palliative Care
When individuals face terminal illness, the Health Care Center at Cross Keys provides palliative, supportive care, according to individual wishes. Our underlying philosophy entitles individuals to live with the highest level of dignity, independence, and quality of life. All residents retain the right to make choices and decisions that affect their care. The support and care we provide is just as much for the family as it is for the resident. Our dedicated team includes a physician, nurse, social worker, and chaplain to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort.
The palliative care program has been enhanced recently by outfitting several rooms specifically for this use. Residents and families are encouraged to bring furniture and personal effects that make the room feel as warm and as much like home as possible.
Additionally, the team serving and caring for individuals in palliative care has received special training, with all members – licensed caregivers and those providing dining, housekeeping and other services – working together as a team for the benefit of residents and families.
