Adult Day Services

GardeningFor adults in need of some degree of daily supervision, Adult Day Services offers full- and part-time or respite services for those aged 18 or over with physical challenges and/or cognitive impairments.

These services are available to those living on the campus of Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community and in the surrounding area. Public transportation is available.

Adult Day Services operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

CyclingLocated in a cottage on Village Drive, just inside the U.S. 30 entrance to the Cross Keys campus, Adult Day Services is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. It allows eligible adults to take advantage of health and social services within one protective setting. Adult Day Services also can provide much-needed rest and peace of mind for family or other caregivers.

Activities at Adult Day Services
Activities allow participants to achieve goals and satisfy social and recreational needs. Activities include:

  • Fitness Classes
  • Table Games
  • Horticulture and gardening
  • Current events
  • Field trips, community activities
  • Intergenerational activities
  • Music
  • Pet visits
  • Devotions
  • Educational presentations
  • Baking and crafts
  • Special events

What Else Does Adult Day Services Offer?

  • Bathing services
  • Periodic health needs review
  • Medication administration
  • Assistance with ambulation/transferring
  • Nutritious meals, as well as morning and afternoon snacks
  • Assistance with grooming
  • Assistance with toileting
  • Assistance with feeding

Resources are available for families in need of support group information, educational materials, and guidance in dealing with issues like Alzheimer’s, behavior management, and other health problems.

Podiatry, dental, and vision services are available. Billing is handled by the service providers. Beauty and barber services also are available on a fee-for-service basis.

Transportation is available through Adams County Transit or Rabbit Transit in York County.

Adult Day Services has contracts with the Adams County Office for Aging (717-334-9296), the York County Agency on Aging (800-632-9073), and the Veteran’s Administration (800-409-8771, ext. 4560). All three agencies offer funding assistance to help cover all or part of the daily rate for those who qualify.
