Butterfly Release draws hundreds
of butterflies and people
Some 300 Cross Keys Village community members and visitors watched hundreds of Monarch butterflies take flight in the second annual Butterfly Release on Saturday, May 23.
The event was more than a visual spectacle, because many of the butterflies were sponsored by onlookers and others in memory or honor of loved ones. Some sponsors also served as “wranglers” and released the butterflies themselves.
