Mark Olszewski and George Turner named to leadership posts at Cross Keys Village
Mark Olszewski, who spent more than 10 years directing dining services at Willow Valley Retirement Community in Lancaster, has joined Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford as Director of Campus Dining.
George Turner, who has been a wellness specialist at Cross Keys for nearly two years, has been named Neighborhood Coordinator for the New Hope and Honey Brook neighborhoods in the Health Care Center.
Olszewski has been in food service for virtually all his adult life, having taken his first job at a Woolworth's lunch counter. He is an adult graduate of Lebanon Valley College.
The Director of Campus Dining has overall responsibility for three public restaurants at Cross Keys, plus the dining services in Health Care and Personal Care, which together feed more than 500 residents and team members in multiple locations throughout the building.
In his former Cross Keys position, Turner was responsible for organizing Active Aging Week and other activities as well as making wellness-related presentations, supervising volunteers who supplement the Wellness Team, and leading fitness classes. Before coming to Cross Keys, he held several exercise specialist positions in York and elsewhere, including some in healthcare settings. He is a Slippery Rock University graduate.
Neighborhood coordinators are responsible for overall team operations in each Health Care Center neighborhood. Various measures of caregiving quality have increased significantly since the positions were created two years ago.
Founded in 1908 Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community includes a 270-bed nursing home, personal care services for 100 individuals, and an independent retirement living campus of 450 homes, cottages and apartments. A team of 700 full- and part-time employees serves the nearly 1,000 villagers and residents, making Cross Keys one of the largest employers in the area.
It is located at the intersection of U.S. 30 and PA 94 (Cross Keys), less than two miles east of New Oxford's town circle.
