‘Chocolate, Coffee & Christian Caring’ event to combine good causes and sweet treats

A unique area event that combines education about helping others with free chocolate has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 14, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in Nicarry Meetinghouse at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.

Called “Chocolate, Coffee & Christian Caring” and sponsored by the Outreach Committee of the Gettysburg Association of the United Church of Christ, the free, public event includes information about outreach opportunities that help others. Those who take part in the educational offerings then are treated to chocolate desserts and quality coffee.

The treats are important because they are “fair trade” products, produced and distributed in a way that guarantees those who grow the raw materials an equitable return for their labors.

A demonstration of vegetarian cooking also will be part of the afternoon’s activities, and several Christian service organizations will provide information.

For more information about “Chocolate, Coffee & Christian Caring,” call Rev. Bruce Bouchard at 717-632-1146.
