Harmony Ridge Expansion to Bring Balance, Harmony to Seniors' Lives
Individuals searching for residential living with the security and offerings only a continuing care retirement community can deliver now have a brand new option. Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford is beginning an expansion of its Harmony Ridge Apartments and is now accepting reservations.
Currently in the pre-construction phase, the project will feature 10 spacious new floor plans, a community center expansion, and a wellness center, with all the best-of-class amenities to help residents simplify their lives, but not their lifestyles. Construction will begin in 2007, with completion in late 2008. Early reservations qualify for the Cross Keys Charter Club, which features pre-construction pricing, the best selection of apartment location and model within the three-story building, and other incentives, including a $3,000 credit toward unit upgrades.
With finely crafted interior details and one- or two-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 800 – 1,750 sq. ft., the Harmony Ridge West apartments accommodate active lifestyles. Apartment highlights include: private patio/balcony, brand-name appliances including full-size washer and dryer, nine-foot ceilings (cathedral ceilings on the third floor), master bedroom suite with sizeable master bathroom, and walk-in closets. Individuals who reserve an apartment before construction will have the choice of cabinetry, countertops and flooring options based on popular selections, as well as several upgrade options. Multiple entrances and two elevators provide convenient access to residents and visitors alike, and welcoming foyers and sitting areas serve as more than a place to just pass by on the way out or when returning home.
The centerpiece of the Harmony Ridge West project is the community center, bustling with activity, friendly neighbors, recreational amenities and numerous conveniences. For your dining pleasure, the expansion will include a bistro café and living room where you can stop for a quick bite to eat or casually meet up with friends for coffee. Other dining options include The Campus Inn—a full-service restaurant already open and serving lunch and dinner to residents and the public—and the Terrace Dining Room, a cafeteria-style eatery in the main campus building. A convenience store will be handy for that item you forgot to get while at the grocery store, and a full-service salon will be available to keep you looking your best.
The center also includes several multipurpose/conference rooms for special activities and entertainment; a business center with a copier, printer and computers for checking and sending e-mail; comfortable lounge areas for impromptu get-togethers; and a billiards room for a friendly or competitive game of pool. The expansion also will feature the availability of covered parking.
To round out the expansion plans, a brand new, state-of-the-art Wellness Center will help support the all-around lives of residents. Besides a swimming pool and spa, there will be a fitness room with cardio equipment and an exercise studio with scheduled classes. In addition, Cross Keys’ wellness director will be available to help tailor exercise programs for residents to help them stay active and physically fit.
Careful planning and consideration for everything from apartment size to location of the washer and dryer have been part of the development process to ensure residents benefit from a carefree and comfortable lifestyle. During the pre-construction phase, floor plans and amenities may be subject to final-detail changes.
Perhaps the most beautiful amenities of Cross Keys are the 250+ acres where the community resides and all that the grounds offer. The campus is complete with walking paths canopied by mature woods, picnic pavilions, a putting green, gardening plots and detailed landscaping. The campus’ location is perfect: the charming “antiques-capital” town of New Oxford is just steps away; the cultural and historical communities of Gettysburg and Hanover are within a few minutes drive; and the popular touring destinations of Hershey and Lancaster are easy day trips, as are the Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
Founded in 1908 as the Church of the Brethren Home and moved to its current location in 1952, Cross Keys today is widely recognized as being in the forefront of retirement communities in south central Pennsylvania. Backed by experience, stability and a not-for-profit mission, this community’s desire is to satisfy the residents and their goals for independent living.
Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities/Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, the nation’s only accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities. Accreditation is awarded to communities that carry out their mission while meeting industry-generated standards of excellence. Cross Keys is one of only a handful of local communities honored with this distinction.
The Welcome Center at Cross Keys is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Retirement counselors are available to answer questions and share details about the new apartments as well as all the other residential living options, including apartments, cottages and Country Homes.
