OK, maybe it’s not the center of the universe, but you can get to an awful lot of the universe – at least those parts you might want to visit – from the intersection of U.S. Route 30 and Pennsylvania Highway 94, locally know as Cross Keys.
Of course, you can do quite a bit without actually having to leave campus, but if you get the urge to venture, you’ll find:
A Great Neighborhood
-
Antiques and other shops in New Oxford
-
Shopping, entertainment and lots of history in Hanover and Gettysburg* (more than three dozen movie screens within about 10 miles, plus two live theater/concert halls Eichelberger Performing Arts Center and The Gettysburg Majestic)
-
Restaurants galore throughout the area
-
York, Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia you are in the middle of all this!

Houses of Worship
The Faith Community on campus is a Church of the Brethren congregation but welcomes all faiths. If you prefer to worship with a particular denomination, though, contact the Pastoral Care office at 624-5253 for more information on the churches throughout and other houses of worship throughout our area.
Getting There
Most essentials are no more than a few minutes from campus, but if you’d rather not visit them on your own, our transportation department schedules regular bus trips to the most popular nearby grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, and shopping destinations. These trips are provided free of charge.
Other Outings
Village Council committees plan regular bus trips to theaters, restaurants and attractions of all kinds, and you will hear regularly about the latest scheduled outing. If you wish, you can take part in planning these activities as a volunteer committee member. You’ll learn about how this all works once you’ve settled in at Cross Keys.
