Fee Options
We offer a variety of fee plans to meet your needs.
Entrance Fee Refund Plans
Our Traditional Entrance Fee Plan is amortized over 100 months, which means that, should you leave your Cross Keys home during that period, you would receive a pro-rated refund of your fee. After 100 months, there is no refund remaining from the entrance fee, but you continue to receive all the rights and benefits of residency with payment of your ongoing monthly service fee – we are happy to have you in your home as long as you are able to remain there safely.
We also offer three Asset Preservation Plans, which amortize your entrance fee, but only to a guaranteed refund balance of 25%, 50% or 75% of your initial payment, depending on which plan you choose. Amortization rates vary according to each plan. Like the traditional plan, you continue to receive all of the rights and benefits of residency with payment of your ongoing monthly service fee.
Monthly fees
Your monthly service fee includes water, sewer, trash removal, cable television, snow removal, lawn care, routine repairs and maintenance on provided appliances, on-campus and scheduled off-campus transportation (to shopping destinations, banks, pharmacies, etc.) and our Harvey S. Kline Wellness Center and other facilities. Remember, too, that you no longer have to pay real estate taxes. If you live in an apartment, your heat and electric bills also are part of your monthly fee.
Our three restaurants offer great variety for your dining, but we also give you options based on how often you wish to dine with us. Meal plans (cash-based, like a debit card) are available from $50 to $250 per month per person. These offer a discount of up to 15% on your meals, plus with a meal plan you don’t pay sales tax. Since tipping servers is not permitted – we pay those team members a living wage – this means that your overall cost per meal could be 30% cheaper than at an outside restaurant, even before you savings on gas. You only need to try our dining venues, think about how often you’ll eat on campus, and sign up for the appropriate plan. You can even use the money to treat guests to dinner or buy take-out items from the convenience area in our Harmony Café.
