The 2010 Founders Club Dinner

Chet McDoniel says ‘Choose to be happy’

2010 Founders Club Dinner speaker was born without arms
and with shortened legs but persevered

Chet McDonielChet McDoniel, the 2010 Founders Club Dinner speaker for The Brethren Home Foundation, says he has the secret to enjoying life to its fullest.

Considering he was born without arms and with only very short legs, his success at living that credo makes his message one worth hearing.

McDoniel will speak at the 2010 Founders Club Dinner on Saturday, November 6, in Nicarry Meetinghouse at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.

Consider McDoniel’s story: His parents decided to raise him as they would any other child, despite his disabilities, and their son got the message. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas, and besides his full career as a motivational speaker and worship leader, he owns a travel agency, is married and has a young daughter.

He is the author of All He Needs for Heaven (co-written with his father) and I’m Not Broken: You Don’t Need Arms to Be Happy.

McDoniel’s appearance continues a Founders Club Dinner tradition of bringing speakers who have succeeded against the odds. The message resonates with a group that takes the lead in helping the residents of Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community by supporting the Good Samaritan Fund (for those who can no longer pay for their own care) and special projects.
