Conewago Valley students to exhibit art at Cross Keys Village in March

Students from all grades in the Conewago Valley School District will have their artwork displayed for the public from March 4 through March 28 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.

The paintings, drawings, sculptures, prints, fiber artworks and pottery pieces will be displayed in the second-floor gallery area of the Health Care Center Main Building (near the main elevator from the Front Desk) and in the Harmony Ridge Gallery near the Campus Inn restaurant.

March is Youth Art Month, and the Conewago Valley School District Art Department arranged for the exhibit to highlight the student talent in Conewago Township and New Oxford Elementary Schools, Conewago Valley Intermediate and New Oxford Middle Schools, and New Oxford High School.

Rachael Gass, Kelly Bortner, Jeanne Plotica, Matt Cotton, Eric Miller, Erica McLaughlin and Amy Slonaker are the Conewago Valley art teachers whose students will have their works shown.

Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community is located at the intersection of U.S. 30 and PA 94 (Cross Keys), less than two miles east of New Oxford’s town circle. The Health Care Center is best accessed from the Main Entrance on Route 94; Harmony Ridge is best reached via the Village Drive entrances on Route 94 and U.S. 30

Free parking is available at both locations.

Amie Mowery, president of the New Oxford H.S. National Art Honor Society, arranges three of the pieces to be exhibited at Cross Keys: her own “yuck face,” Andy Scutta’s “mirror” (front), and Sarah Hicks’ “eyes drawing.” Works in various media by Conewago Valley School District students, from kindergarten through high school, will be on display March 4-28 in the Health Care Center Main Building and the Harmony Ridge Community Center.
