The Barnstormers to present Fine Arts Concert on Friday, Sept. 18, at Cross Keys Village

Barnstormers

The Barnstormers will bring their brand of old-timey American music to Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community when they present a free, public concert on Friday, Sept. 18, beginning at 7 p.m. in Nicarry Meetinghouse.

The event is part of the Fine Arts Concert Series at Cross Keys.

Slim Harrison and Tom Jolin teamed up nearly three decades ago to perform traditional American folk music, and as the Barnstormers they have done so for all kinds of events, including international tours.

Harrison’s instruments include fiddle, banjo, mountain dulcimer and harmonica, while Jolin plays hammer dulcimer, banjo, button accordion, guitar, harmonica and bowed psaltery. Both sing.

Besides their Barnstormers existence, Harrison and Jolin both are solo performers and instrument makers.

The Fine Arts Concert Series at Cross Keys receives support from the Brethren Home Auxiliary. The next event will feature the harmonies of the Prodigal Sons, who will perform gospel music and other selections on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community is located at the intersection of U.S. 30 and PA 94 (Cross Keys), less than two miles east of New Oxford’s town circle. Nicarry Meetinghouse is best accessed via the Route 30 entrance, which is at the northwest corner of the campus. Directional signage is available at other entrances. Ample free parking is available.
