Homeschoolers to present Oscar Wilde’s classic, ‘The Importance of Being Earnest,’ on January 29

A troupe of Adams County homeschooled students will present Oscar Wilde’s enduring comedy, “The Importance of Being Earnest,” on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. in Nicarry Meetinghouse at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.

The performance is free and open to the public.

The cast and crew of the play are teenagers ranging from age 13 up. Producer/Director Anna Rebmann is 17. Many have been homeschooled all their lives, and this play gives them the opportunity to engage in an activity more commonly available to their public school counterparts.

Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community is located at the intersection of U.S. 30 and PA 94 (Cross Keys), less than two miles east of New Oxford’s town circle. Nicarry Meetinghouse is best accessed via the Route 30 entrance, which is at the northwest corner of the campus. Directional signage is available at other entrances. Ample free parking is available.
