Health Care Center and Harmony Ridge Gallery areas
Normal business hours in June
Stunning wildlife photography by Hanover native Michael Despines will be displayed in June in the Health Care Center and Harmony Ridge gallery areas at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.
Now based in Silver Spring, Md., Despines traces his interest in animals to childhood and an extensive collection of picture books, stuffed animals, toys, and photo cards and games.
He joined the Peace Corps after graduating from Penn State and was assigned to Gabon, West Africa. For the next 17 years he served in various African nations, and vacations typically were photo safaris.
Since returning to the United States in 2007, he has worked to promote solutions that allow humans and animals to live in balance. He is the author of a Wild Memories: 2008, a book which contains some of his most memorable photos.
Both gallery areas are open during normal business hours. The Main Building Gallery area is on the second floor directly above the main entrance and reception area. The Harmony Ridge Gallery is in the hallway between the Community Center and Harmony Ridge East Apartments.
Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community is located at the intersection of U.S. 30 and PA 94 (Cross Keys), less than two miles east of New Oxford’s town circle. Harmony Ridge is best accessed via the Village Drive entrances off Routes 30 or 94. The Main Health Care Center building is best accessed via the Main Entrance off PA 94. Directional signage is available at all entrances. Ample free parking is available.
